Pray with Bess

On Nov 18, 2024, Bess was admitted to the ER after a week of feeling really weak with a resting heart rate of 130bpm. She was then diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia with the flt3 mutation. Her current treatment includes multiple rounds of chemo and bone marrow transplant. This site is created to keep family and friends updated on how Bess is doing and how we can pray together with her. If you are interested in getting updates, you can subscribe on the bottom of this website. If you would like to join in praying for her, you can sign up for the prayer chain here. And lastly, Bess would be delighted to spend some free time in the hospital praying for you, and would love for you to submit prayer requests on this site. It would be a comforting activity for her instead of thinking about her illness and missing Belle all day.

Renewal, Bess' church, has a prayer ministry which has set up a prayer/fasting chain to cover Bess with prayers every day until she is healed. There are no limitations to how often you sign up and there is a tab for sharing what God speaks to you in your times of prayer. You can fast for a meal or the whole day, as the Spirit leads. The desire is to have at least one person praying/fasting a day for Bess.

Guidelines and precautions due to being immunocompromised:
1. Fresh home cooked food only, no restaurant food
2. No raw vegetables/fruit/meat, everything must be thoroughly cooked
3. Please make sure nobody with cold/flu symptoms are around the food.

4. Food should not be left out, it should be delivered to Bess roughly within 1 hour of it being cooked; alternatively, please let it cool down and then freeze it immediately so that it can be microwaved here

5. Please wear gloves/mask while preparing the food.

Let's come together to support Bess and her family in this difficult season of recovering from leukemia and awaiting a bone marrow transplant. Bess' parents are currently visiting from overseas and staying in South Bay to help take care of Bess and Belle. It would be a great help if we could cover meals especially as they get adjusted in the area. Please send meals enough to cover both lunch and dinner for the day. DoorDash gift card is also welcome.

A worship playlist of encouragement for Bess and all those praying with her. If you would like to add any songs, you can click the link and add, or send it to her through the prayer request form and someone will add it through there.

One way we can encourage Bess during her long periods of isolation and solitude is to recommend books!

She is looking for personal recommendations of special / favorite / transformative / meaningful books. It might be hard to narrow down your list, but please add 1 or 2 - whatever comes to mind - on this spreadsheet!
